Acclaimed guitarist and songwriter, Tom Baxter, is to unveil a Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council blue plaque for the musician and composer Davey Graham at 3.30pm on 26 November 2016 at the place of Graham's birth - Bosworth Park Infirmary (now Bosworth Hall, a Britannia Hotel in Market Bosworth, Leicestershire).
Directly after the unveiling ceremony, Tom introduces a Davey Graham tribute concert featuring children from the Hinckley and Bosworth based - JAM Music School and their tutors.
In the evening Tom Baxter will travel to the infamous Bosworth Battlefield to perform for 'Ne Oublie - a King - Davey Graham'. (Ne Oublie is the Graham Clan motto meaning: 'Do not Forget').
Tom says: "I am delighted to represent Davey Graham in my own humble way and be part of a remembrance for his shining star."
Carol Ballard, partner of the late Davey Graham said: "Tom Baxter's music makes even the most broken hearted amongst us feel blessed. Where others ridicule, this poet-musician restores respect. The only music Davey listened to on the afternoon of his passing - 15 December 2008 - was by Tom Baxter. It is fitting that the musician who gave comfort to Davey in his final hours, performs on the day commemorating his birth . . . Tom's solo concerts are profound experiences in the here and now...masks will drop."
Tom's music has been placed in numerous Hollywood films, and his achingly beautiful voice has been the backdrop to some of the nation's most exciting moments from the Beijing Olympics to the coverage of the 2012 Royal Wedding. Witness him live as he showcases his masterful guitar playing and the raw, confessional depth of his lyrics.
Tom Baxter is presented in commememoration of Bosworth born guitarist Davey Graham at the Tithe Barn, Bosworth Battlefield, on 26 11 16. Doors open at 8pm. Tom will be on stage at 9pm. Tickets are £15.
